12 Months Fulltime. Achieved. What Next?

April 1, 2007

A little celebration here at anotherjunction today as I’ve just reminded myself that I’ve managed my first year as a fulltime affiliate (or are we search marketers?). Exactly 12 months ago I gave up my senior development role within a commercial software house and said goodbye to the salary, pension, company car, sickness benefits, paid holidays, etc. Oh shit… what have I done – it’s sounding like an April Fool!? It is true and I wish I’d done it sooner.

Actually, because we’ve been doing this for a few years, the decision to jack in paid-employment (where I wasn’t at all happy) wasn’t a difficult one to make. But, hats off to anyone who jumps in the deep end with a limited track record in this market.

I’ll publish our plans for the trading year ahead soon (I’m taking a family break for a few days), but a post on an interesting blog I’ve started reading says an awful lot to me – have a read (apologies if you’ve seen it before).

Well done on reaching one year as a full time affiliate – it’s a cool milestone to reach.

Congratulations on your first Birthday !

You should raise a glass of something decent, probably purchased through winejunction.com, things growing all the time in Oz if a little slowly.

    Roge.
